How therapy can help
Psychotherapy won’t work for everyone; one has to be in the right place in one’s mind, one has to stumble on a good therapist and be in a position to give the process due time and care. But that said, with a fair wind, psychotherapy also has the chance to be the best thing we ever get around to doing. (The School of Life 2019)

People pursue counselling and psychotherapy for many different reasons, and most come to therapy feeling unsure – especially if they are used to managing things on their own. I regularly work with clients who:

  • Would like to understand themselves better
  • Would like to make changes in their lives
  • Are living with low mood or depression
  • Are experiencing racing thoughts, constant worry or difficulty switching off
  • Feel anxious or uncomfortable in social situations
  • Are experiencing difficulties in relationships, including feeling misunderstood or insecure
  • Are experiencing a loss of identity or direction during times of change
  • Would like to explore neurodiversity and different ways of thinking
  • Are grieving or bereaved, including feeling lost or overwhelmed
  • Are feeling the impact of emotional or physical neglect or abuse
